How about an artists monastery?
It seems like only "safe" and "generic" music/art is rewarded in the marketplace now-a-days. It was probably always this way. How do artists who have vision survive or stay sane long enough to latch onto or realize their visions.
This is the question of the ages I think for artists.
Maybe.
Then you see visionary artists like Alex Grey and great writers like Ken Wilber...but how many other geniuses have not been recognized because they lacked the luck or networking skills to get their "thing" out there?
Maybe some wealthy integral benefactor could create a location where artists could come and create. Most artists just need a slight amount of food and a roof over their head, they're so consumed with their work...
but then I suppose the catch is "who" rates worthy of entry...so many mouths to feed.
Giving up seems a viable alternative at times...but there's always that gnawing in the gut that won't go away...

Thoughtful post. And I think you are right in the fact that there are many talented artists of all types in the world…thank goodness for the internet…now artists have a new short cut to the world at large. I love the idea of a place to just work and live…nice. :)
